Where Christ, Community, & Events meet

We implement our mission through:

  • Promoting the fundamental, God-given right of parents to guide and direct their children’s education.

  • Running a variety of events for homeschoolers to join together for various educational, social, athletic, or artistic opportunities. There is much to gain in a larger vibrant community!

  • Hosting the annual Delaware Home Education Convention

  • Providing information for both those considering homeschooling and those already homeschooling to support their journey.

  • Keeping watch for homeschool-related legislation in Dover. Delaware has benefited from homeschool freedom for more than a generation. We’re here to partner with parents to make sure future generations can as well.

KAYRON VENCI ~ Secretary

Hello! I’ve been homeschooling since 2010 and was an elementary public-school teacher before getting married and moving around with the military. In 2017 God moved our family of 5 (2 daughters and a son) to Delaware where we quickly got plugged in this amazing homeschool community and Wednesday Co-op. Tri-State has been a great organization to help our family further plug into the community. I’m excited to serve this organization and community by serving on the Board and leading several activities like our monthly skating and field day. I’m excited to see what God has in store for Tri-State.

Founded as Tri-state Home School Network in 1986 near Wilmington Delaware, Tri-State drew members from Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Following incorporation in 1993 as Tri-State Home School Network, Inc. the events offered grew and changed over the years, including a choir, Math and Science Olympiads, a rhetoric team, graduation, as well as the numerous events that continue today. Tri-State was reincorporated in 2012 with its current name, Tri-State Homeschool, Inc. and continued offering a range of homeschool events, including starting the Delaware Home Education Convention in 2024. Statement of Faith

This statement of faith guides the events and activities of Tri-State Homeschool. While only Tri-State board members and leaders are required to affirm this statement, members are encouraged to be familiar with it.

  1. The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and its 66 books constitute His complete and final revelation to mankind. The Bible, in its original autographs, is without error in whole and in part and is his personal message to all of mankind. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Hebrews 1:1-2, Psalm 119:105)

  2. God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, II Cor. 13:14, John 1:1, John 10:30)

  3. Jesus Christ was God in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, and without sin. (John 1:1, John 14, Matthew 1:18, Hebrews 4:15, Colossians 2:9)

  4. Everyone is in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His holy character both by nature and act and are therefore under His wrath and just condemnation. (Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, 1 Corinthians 15:22, Psalm 68:2)

  5. The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay the penalty for each person’s sin through His substitutionary atoning death on the cross, the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection. (John 3:16, 1 John 4:10, Acts 4:12, Romans 5:6-10, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 Corinthians 15:1-6)

  6. Salvation from sin is offered as a gift, free to the sinner. This gift must be responded to by individual faith, not trusting in any personal works whatsoever, but in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone. (John 3:16-18, Romans 6:23, 2 Peter 3:9, Romans 10:13, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 6:2)

  7. All human life is sacred and created by God in His image.  We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Genesis 1:26, Psalm 139:13-14, Psalm 127:3, Matthew 6:26)

  8. God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. (Genesis 1:27)

  9. The term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.  God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. (Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9)

  10. Children are a gift from God and parents are given the responsibility to direct their upbringing and education. (Psalm 127:3, John 16:21, Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Proverbs 1:8, Ephesians 6:4, Proverbs 22:6)

Why the name "Tri-State"?

Delaware has always had a fluid relationship with its neighbors. Under control of Maryland, then later leased as a part of Pennsylvania, “the Lower Counties on the Delaware” only became a state in 1776 when simultaneously declaring independence from Great Britain and Pennsylvania. Ownership of the famous wedge was only settled in 1921. Given geometrically (not geographically) defined boundaries, there has been little to prevent families, commerce, etc. from developing across state lines. So while Tri-State Homeschool is Delaware’s state homeschool organization, our events are not limited to those in the “the Lower Counties on the Delaware.”
